Who is a good candidate for this diet?

Even though it is mainly used in children, adults could also benefit from this diet. It is usually considered as an option in patients that are not responding to medications, or when parents/patients would rather not use medications. Typically it becomes an option after 2-3 medications for seizures have failed However, there are certain conditions in which the diet has proved to be more effective and could be tried as more of a front line treatment. These include Dravet’s, infantile spams, tuberous sclerosis and myoclonic-astatic epilepsy.
