Epilepsy on the Move: Stay tuned for upcoming epilepsy and seizure disorder events and news in the last quarter of 2021!

Stay tuned: There are plenty of upcoming activities that you may want to jot down and keep in mind over the next few months. These include webinars and two major epilepsy awareness days!

a) January 28, 2022: Dr. Gaston Baslet (Brigham and Women's Hospital) and Dr. Lorna Myers (NEREG) will present at the ISSTD webinar on a novel treatment for psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES).  Dr. Baslet will be discussing his mindfulness-based treatment for adults with PNES.

b) February 14, 2022 (Valentine's Day): International Epilepsy Day:

This day is a joint initiative of the International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE) and the International League against Epilepsy (ILAE) celebrated across the globe in the 120 of countries in which IBE and ILAE are represented. The International Epilepsy Day is an exceptional epilepsy event and most astoundingly, it is celebrated simultaneously around the world.  Let's use this day to raise awareness about epilepsy!

This is a day for everyone, no matter where you are in all of the USA or the world, no matter whether it is just you or a whole group of you. We want you to help us celebrate and highlight the difficulties faced by those who live with epilepsy on International Epilepsy Day! Let's speak with one global voice.  Remember that PURPLE is the official awareness color of epilepsy--you can wear purple clothes, hair extensions, nail polish, deck your home, car, or office in purple.  Swing by our offices to celebrate the day with your doctors and all the staff. Take any opportunity to have to spread reliable information  about epilepsy to dismiss the many hurtful myths that still exist.
