New York and New Jersey Epilepsy Activities 2013: Fall Wellness for epilepsy takes off with art workshops, yoga, pilates, art, and knitting.

With the new fall season comes a new set of wellness activities for our patients.  Quality of life in epilepsy can be improved despite obstacles by engaging in mentally and physically stimulating activities that get our creative juices flowing and our muscles toned.

In Spring, we offered a wonderful variety of activities in New York and New Jersey (free of charge to all our patients) including yoga, drumming, knitting, and art classes.  Rave reviews and requests for new activities came in from both states so we started working on putting together a new program.  So here is the unveiling of Wellness in the Fall for Epilepsy!  Mark your activity books: yoga is coming back to NY and NJ and mat pilates taught by certified personal trainer, Renata Joy; knitting taught by two generous patients, and drawing classes taught by a Pratt Institute student are all on the calendar.  Also, the Purple Pumpkin Project is coming back to Hackensack on October 24.  This event is free and open to kids and adults who want to come paint and decorate their pumpkin purple for Halloween.
