All year long, the Northeast Regional Epilepsy Group promotes epilepsy education for patients, their caregivers, medical treatment staff, and the general public. Team Northeast Regional Epilepsy Group participates in several epilepsy walks and many different fundraising activities that directly benefit the national or local epilepsy foundations and advocacy societies. Speakers:
Robert Trobliger, Ph.D.
Dr. Trobliger is the co-director of the Clinical Neuropsychology program at the Northeast Regional Epilepsy Group, which has offices in New York and New Jersey. He sees both children and adults. He completed his doctorate in Counseling Psychology at New York University. During his studies he did training at the NYU Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, Bellevue's Traumatic Brain Injury Unit, Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center's TBI Unit, and several private practices. Following completion of his PhD, he completed a fellowship at the Northeast Regional Epilepsy Group before joining as a full-time staff member. His research interests include: Epilepsy and Memory, Epilepsy and ADHD, and psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES) and cognitive functioning.

Lorna Myers, Ph.D. 
Dr. Myers is the director of the Psychogenic Non-epileptic Seizure program at the Northeast Regional Epilepsy Group. She is a clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist and has worked with patients diagnosed with PNES for fifteen years. She is also a certified clinician and supervisor in prolonged exposure therapy for PTSD.  In 2014, she published the book: Psychogenic non- epileptic Seizures: A Guide which was later translated and published in Japanese and Spanish.

Christos Lambrakis, M.D.
Dr. Lambrakis is the Associate Director of the Northeast Regional Epilepsy Group and an epileptologist.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering, Rensaeler Polyteclinic Institute of New York and his Doctorate of Medicine from New York Medical College.  He completed his Internship, residency in Neurology and Neurophysiology Fellowship in Westchester County Medical Center, Valhalla, NY. He and Dr. Marcelo Lancman formed the Northeast Regional Epilepsy Group in 1998.  He is board certified in Psychiatry and Neurology with a specialization in Neurology, Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology.

Julia Doss, Psy.D.
Dr. Doss is the Director of Pediatric the Psychogenic non-epileptic seizure program at the Minnesota Epilepsy Group and the Training Director of the Pediatric Psychology Fellowship. Dr. Doss is a clinical psychologist and one of the authors of a new book called Pediatric non-epileptic seizures: A Treatment Guide (Springer Publishing).

Target audience: Psychologists and Social Workers. The course is geared for: All Levels

Course Objectives:

Participants will be able to:
1) Tell the definition and characterization of psychogenic non-epileptic seizures
2) Detect the common neuropsychological profiles of patients who carry this diagnosis
3) Discuss treatment options for patients with PNES depending on their psychiatric comorbidities and age.
4) Demonstrate competence in managing a patient with PNES in their office
5) Specify the differences that occur in adult and pediatric PNES
