Who is a candidate and who can benefit most from it?
• Patients that are not candidates for epilepsy surgery or those who do not want to have brain surgery can be considered for VNS
• Potentially, it could work on any type of epilepsy. Even though it was approved originally for partial epilepsy, it has been also used for generalized epilepsy and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome in particular.
