Communication

Establishing an ongoing method of communication between yourself and educators will go a very long way in increasing understanding and assuring that both sides of the education team (This includes you!) are on the same page.  It can be as easy as passing a communications book back and forth in your child’s backpack each day.  It can be through email or with phone calls.  If you are an adult who is studying, get to know your college professors and meet with them during their office hours and explain your particular learning needs.  They can direct you to help that’s available on campus.  Showing appreciation to educators for their care and concern and alerting them to changes in seizure activity or medications puts them on your team.  Working together will lead your team to victory!
