Bike-a-thon for Epilepsy Free not-for-profit

On May 1, Team Epilepsy Free rode 40 miles through New York City in the 5-boro Bike Tour raising badly needed funds for the Epilepsy Free not-for-profit that grants scholarships to children and adults with epilepsy and psychogenic non-epileptic seizures.

Dr. Lorna Myers rode in the 5-boro NYC Bike Tour raising badly needed funds for the Epilepsy Free not-for-profit organization that grants summer camp and continuing education and college to children and adults living with epilepsy and other seizure disorders including psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES).  The weather did not cooperate as it was raining non-stop and pretty chilly and the total distance to go was 40 miles!  32,000 people had registered so the start of the tour was slow going but then bicycles started to spread out and the ride really took off.  Imagine what a surreal experience to ride down the FDR with no cars and crossing bridges with absolutely no cars!  The best thing of all, Epilepsy Free received $3050 in donations through GoFundMe and checks and very generously NEREG pledged to match all donations raised by May 1!  So, in total, we raised a whopping $6100 during this bike-a-thon.  Maybe we can inspire you to ride during the next bike-a-thon?  There is a slightly shorter one (30 miles) coming up in September in New Jersey.
