Our epilepsy and seizures community of patients, family, friends and doctors has been busy!

Throughout fall, our doctors, office managers, secretaries and nurses have all been extra-busy raising epilepsy and seizure awareness through 1) organizing the upcoming annual Northeast Regional Epilepsy Group conference, 2) attending professional meetings and giving lectures, 3) receiving awards, and 4) going on Epilepsy Walks that benefited the Epilepsy Services of NJ.

We are very proud that our doctors were voted 2018 New Jersey Top Doctors by Inside Jersey Magazine! Congratulations go out to:

Dr. Marcelo Lancman

Dr. Jeffrey Politsky

Dr. Enrique Feoli

Dr. Lorraine Lazar

Dr. JM Paolicchi

On September 14-15, Dr. Lorna Myers participated in a meeting on functional neurological disorders (FND) in Atlanta, Georgia where she presented on "Expectancy and the internet in PNES".

On October 5, Dr. Lorna Myers presented on psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES) at the Neurological Institute of Columbia Presbyterian.

On October 20, the Northeast Regional Epilepsy group held its now famously traditional annual conference on epilepsy and psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES).
Expert speakers (epileptologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuropsychologists, clinical psychologists) spoke about adult and childhood epilepsy and psychogenic non-epileptic seizures.  Several hundred persons were in attendance. Surveys handed in at the end of the day showed that we did A-OK with rave reviews of the speakers, the conference rooms, the food, and more. So happy it turned out so well!

On November 8, 2018, Dr. Marcelo Lancman, Medical Director of the Northeast Regional Epilepsy Group was presented with the Healthcare Professional of the Year Award at the Family Resource Network's Annual Impact Awards Dinner (Thursday, November 8th at the Park Avenue Club in Florham Park).  Dr. Eric Segal presented Dr. Lancman with the beautiful crystal award while two tables full of NEREG staff clapped and enjoyed a delicious dinner.  Thank you to Eric Joice, Liza Gundell and Andrea Racciopi of the Epilepsy Services of NJ for hosting this lovely evening.

On November 10, team Northeast Regional Epilepsy Group marched along Jersey City Liberty Park for epilepsy (this walk had been rescheduled from the original date of October 27 due to a Nor'easter). All funds raised go to the wonderful Epilepsy Services of New Jersey!  The team braved the shockingly cold weather and came out swinging against epilepsy and seizures. By the day of the walk, the team had raised a whopping $3,135.00! A big hurrah goes out to team captain, Mary Holtz for leading the way in her purple cupcake outfit. ☺

On November 26, Nicole Dvorak MS RDN CNSC, of the Northeast Regional Epilepsy Group, spoke through a webinar that was offered by the Epilepsy Services of New Jersey.
Her topic was on the many diets now being used to treat epileptic seizures.  The webinar was completely free thanks to Epilepsy Services of NJ http://epilepsygroup.com/news_patients_providers6-20-2-301/webinar-diet-therapy-in-the-treatment-of-epilepsy.htm

November 30- December 4, 2018: Northeast Regional Epilepsy Group doctors attended the 72nd Annual American Epilepsy Society meeting in New Orleans, LA. They coordinated and participated in Special Interest Groups, presented their research findings and networked with many other epilepsy specialists from around the world.  This annual meeting is the premier conference on epilepsy that attracts epilepsy specialists from across the globe every year.
